“If I should describe my experience at Bosch with only one word, I would say: valuable.”
Sebastian Foldager, 20 years old
Sebastian Foldager - Marketing Trainee in Power Tools
Sebastian became a part of the Power Tools division on the 1st of December 2018, working with two different brands: Accessories and Measuring Tools.
Before starting at Bosch, he was a trainee in a shipping company. However, he realized that it was not his way, so he decided to change.
“As soon as I understood that shipping and logistics where not in my interests, I searched on different websites and platforms for other interesting positions. That was when I came across the trainee position at Bosch. I spoke to the counsellor at my high school and she said, that there were many trainees at Bosch that were very happy with the working environment and their tasks. All of them had developed a lot, not only professionally but also personally. This attracted me a lot and I decided to apply. “
His first impression was that people are very professional and positive. You are given great opportunities if you are willing to take them. In the beginning, his biggest challenge was getting to know the different processes and working independently on a daily basis. His working days at Bosch can be very different: in his team, daily tasks include publishing marketing advertisement, PVS material for their customers and excel books.
“Before applying, I did not know that much about Bosch. I knew that Bosch is a big international company, but actually, I only was familiar with power tools. Now that I am working here, my vision and knowledge about the company is completely different. If I should describe my experience at Bosch with only one word, I would say: valuable.”
If he should give a tip to someone who wants to apply for Bosch, he would say that it is important to like different cultures: you have to be inspired by diversity and internationality. Moreover, as the environment is very dynamic, you have to do a lot of communication and therefore you should be motivated to talk new people. For all this you need to have a lot of energy.
“What I like the most is that people here are very open minded, as we have many people from different nationalities to cooperate with. In my department, we come from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany and Switzerland. My team is nice and cosy; here in Ballerup we are five people for Accessories and three for Measuring Tools, plus one colleague sitting in Sweden.”
Talking about his future, Sebastian sees himself in the same business, working in Sales and Marketing. This really motivates him to speak to people from different parts of the world and learn new things, what is an essential part of being a trainee at Bosch.
“I think that a lot can happen in two years and I have already learned a lot during the past six months, I can see that there has only been development from this point. I am really looking forward to seeing what will happen in this year and a half ahead.”
Not only in his job but also in his free time, he likes being social with his friends and family.
“It is very important for me. I also have a part time job, but only for the social part of working with many young people. “
